Peter Hickey is from Wanganui, New Zealand. He has a Primary Diploma of Teaching from Wellington College of Education in Wellington, New Zealand and followed by a Bachelor of Education degree at Wellington College of Education. Peter has completed Principals Qualification from Auckland University in 2005. He is also a member the New Zealand Teachers Council.
Peter has a rich experience in education and leadership, having worked in the independent sector and state sector in New Zealand education and recently in the UAE and Singapore. Peter has worked in senior leadership roles in renowned international schools in Dubai and Singapore. His passion for boys in education led him to undertake research in this area, which deals specifically with the social, emotional and academic needs of boys across the school. He was also been involved in setting up the Reading Program in the schools under his leadership and believes that “inferential” skills in reading should be taught to children from a young age. Peter brings his vast experience in the field of education to United World Preschool.
